FrameFit: Video Editor

Fit the frame before you post.

FrameFit is a social video editor for iPhone and iPad. Preview where each platform puts its buttons and captions, place your own captions inside that safe area, and export a canvas for the post.

Coming soon on iPhone

Also built for iPad. Requires iOS 26.5 or later. There is no App Store listing yet, so this page does not link to a download.

Features

What the editor actually does

Each item below is in the current app. Where a tool needs FrameFit Pro, it is labeled.

Platform safe zones

The preview can show safe-zone guides for TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, Instagram Stories, Instagram Feed, Square, Snapchat Spotlight, and Facebook Reels. A dashed rectangle marks the safe area. Named zones mark the action rail, caption block, top status, and, on Stories, the reply bar. The overlay is for the preview only and is not exported.

Captions that use the safe area

Type captions, or import and export SRT and VTT. Style the font, size, colors, stroke, background, alignment, width, and anchor. Safe-top and safe-bottom anchors sit on the preview platform’s safe rectangle.

Pro On-device transcription turns clip audio into word-timed captions after Apple’s speech model is installed. Kinetic word and karaoke highlight styles are also part of FrameFit Pro. Manual captions and SRT/VTT import do not require Pro.

One-tap Auto-fit

With a preview platform selected, Auto-fit reframes the clip under the playhead so the subject sits inside that platform’s safe area. It uses face detection, then saliency, then a geometric fallback, from a still frame of the player. It is not continuous tracking while the video plays.

Voice-over

Record while the video plays. The default count-in is 3 seconds. A live input meter, multiple takes, and latency compensation are included. Auto-ducking lowers music and clip audio under a take. It is on by default and can be turned off.

Eight voice presets: Chipmunk, Helium, Deep, Robot, Telephone, Megaphone, Cathedral, and Monster. Chipmunk and Robot work without a subscription. The other six are Pro.

Looks and color

Twenty-two bundled LUT looks, starting with Teal & Orange, Bleach Bypass, Vintage Film, Moody Matte, B&W Contrast, and Cross Process. Those first six are available without Pro. The rest, and custom .cube LUT import, are Pro.

Separate controls cover brightness, contrast, saturation, exposure, blur, sharpen, and vignette.

Titles, keyframes, transitions

Title presets include Lower Third, Social Title, and Outro Card. Kinetic Title, Bold Callout, and Pop Headline are Pro. Keyframe a clip’s position, scale, rotation, and opacity, with hold, linear, ease, and bezier interpolation, plus an optional motion path.

Twelve clip transitions: dissolve, fade through black, four pushes, four wipes, bars, and flash. Picture-in-picture supports up to three tracks.

Export

Export at 720p, 1080p, or 4K, with High, Medium, or Low quality, and single-pass or two-pass encoding. 720p and 1080p use H.264. 4K uses HEVC. Canvas presets are 9:16, 1:1, 16:9, and 4:5. Named presets are Quick Share, High Quality, Max (4K), and Social.

Exports without Pro include a “FrameFit” watermark. 4K, watermark-free export, and batch export are Pro. Batch export writes one file per selected platform and fits clips with a geometric, center-based placement. That batch fit does not rerun face detection.

Projects, kits, and sharing

Pro Brand kits save look and export-platform choices you can apply to another project. Optional iCloud sync stores the project manifest and media in your private CloudKit database. Project sharing uses CloudKit. Sync is off until you turn it on. There is no separate FrameFit account.

Custom Song and AI Director

Pro Custom Song sends a text prompt, and optional lyrics, to FrameFit’s server and returns generated audio you can add to the project.

AI Director can analyze a proxy of your footage, plan edits, narrate from a script, and work with music. The default mode uses FrameFit’s own server and your device. These tools are optional. Editing, captions, voice-over, and export do not require them. Details are in the privacy policy.

How it works

From import to export

01

Import

Create a project and bring in video or photos with the system photo picker.

02

Choose the frame

Pick a canvas — 9:16, 1:1, 16:9, or 4:5 — and a preview platform. Safe-zone guides appear on the preview.

03

Edit

Trim and arrange clips, add captions, record a voice-over, and apply a look. Auto-fit can reframe the clip at the playhead.

04

Export

Export 720p or 1080p, or 4K with Pro. Batch export, also Pro, writes a version for each platform you select.

FAQ

Questions

Is FrameFit on the App Store?

Coming soon on iPhone. The project is still in development and has no App Store ID or download URL. This site does not show a store badge.

Does it run on iPad?

Yes. The app targets iPhone and iPad and requires iOS 26.5 or later. iPhone is portrait. iPad supports portrait and landscape. The editor uses a bottom dock on a compact screen and a side rail with an inspector on a regular-width screen.

Do I need an account?

No FrameFit account is required to edit. Optional iCloud sync and project sharing use your Apple iCloud account. Custom Song and AI Director require an active FrameFit Pro subscription so the app can present a StoreKit transaction to FrameFit’s server.

Does caption transcription upload my audio?

Auto-transcription for captions runs on device with Apple’s Speech framework, after the speech model is installed. That caption path does not send the audio to FrameFit. If you later use AI Director, that separate tool can upload a proxy of the footage when you submit a job.

What leaves the device?

Projects stay on the device unless you turn on iCloud sync or use a Pro server feature. iCloud sync stores data in your private iCloud database. Custom Song sends the prompt and optional lyrics. AI Director can send a proxy video, proxy audio, a transcript, a timeline description, or narration text, depending on the job. Purchases are handled by Apple. See the privacy policy.

Is there a watermark?

Exports without FrameFit Pro include a “FrameFit” watermark. Pro removes it.

Does batch export follow the subject?

No. Batch export fits each platform with a geometric, center-based placement. Subject detection is the editor’s Auto-fit action, which uses one still frame of the clip under the playhead.
